• Students will have
homework. I will introduced and teach to match the Common
Core Standards. Students will usually
have an opportunity for guided
practice on the assignment during class time so that I can provide assistance for those who need
it. Work not completed during class time becomes homework.
• Homework is not meant to be busy work. It is assigned to REINFORCE the taught skills. It is important for students to complete the assignments so that they can MASTER each skill taught.
• Parents are welcome to give help on homework. Please help only when the child does not completely understand a concept. After you explain, expect your child to continue on his/her own.
* Students who have missing/late assignments will be given 1 day to turn in the missing assignments. Failure to do so will result in a zero in the grade book. Late assignments may have a grade deduction. Students who are missing assignments will be assigned a homework detention during lunch until the work is completed. Three lunch homework detentions will result in a strike against Mrs. Ivers’ quarterly school reward party. Any student receiving three strikes will lose some or all of the reward party. It is the expectation that all work be completed, to ensure students do not fall behind on any vital material from class.
Students who complete assignments on time show that they are RESPONSIBLE team members and will rewarded. Way to go!
